When and where is the tournament being held?

The Battle At The Lake Ball Hockey Classic will run on Saturday July 22nd and Sunday July 23rd, 2023 at the temporary courts at the Sackville Arena (91 First Lake Drive, Lower Sackville)

Where do I park?

There will be limited parking on site. However, there is a large Sobeys Parking lot and call center located across the street that are perfect for overflow parking.

How many games will each team play?

Each team will play a minimum of 4 games over the weekend with the round robin taking place on Saturday and the playoffs happening on Sunday. Every team will make the single elimination playoff round.

What equipment will players need to participate?

The only equipment required is a helmet, sneakers and a hockey stick. However, we HIGHLY recommend the use of shinpads, elbow pads (soccer) and gloves to be extra cautious.

What if it is raining that weekend?

The players will battle rain or shine.

My child doesn’t play hockey, can they still be on a team?

Absolutely! Ball hockey is a sport that can be enjoyed by athletes of all skill levels. In fact this is a great opportunity for non-hockey players to enjoy the game without the pressure of being able to skate.

Will there be food on site?

Yes, there will be food vendors on site. There is also many local and chain food establishments a short walk or drive from the arena.

Are there activities for other people in the family?

The Battle At The Lake Ball Hockey Classic is ideally located next to First Lake in Lower Sackville. There are beautiful walking trails, a park, a splash pad and other amenities close by for the family to explore.

Can my child play with their friends?

Absolutely. Teams are registered together. Get your friends together, decide on a team name and come on out and play.
